if you have a large gas tank outside and your water heater and stove are the only things you think are on it and it’s dropping fast then you probably have a gas pack…….the only way to tell 100% for sure is to look on the unit….find the make, model and serial number if you can and look it up online
you won’t have a gas furnace
Depending on where you happen to live (climate) a heat pump is expensive and always less efficient than a furnace to heat the house.

There should be a unit in the outside area of your yard that basically runs most of the time… if not, they stole your heat pump and your neighbour is burning your gas…
A heat pump will run most of the time and most of the year. Winter, it is trying to heat the house and summer, it is trying to cool it.
Wait ’til the electric bill arrives…

Most heat pumps will not work well at real cold temperatures.
To compensate for the heat pump not being able to keep up with the heat demand they will install an electric heat strip.

a heat pump lies about 18 inches abouve the grass line .also look at vthe thermostat .does it have emergencey heat?if so then u have a heat pump
