My air conditioner doesn’t seem to cool the house very good, I think I am setting it wrong, it is on Auto and cool, and then for the temperatures i have both the red and blue marks set on 65. Did I set the temperatures right? If not then what do I need to set the red and the blue, thanks very much!!!

Where can I find instructions for installing a wall cabinet sleeve for a Kenmore wall mount air conditioner?

We bought the air conditioner from Sears but it did not have any instruction for installing the sleeve in the wall. I have no idea how far the sleeve should be inside and outside the house. Do I need any additional supports? Any help would be appreciated.

March 29th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Maintenance Repairs
Avi asked:

I am trying to charge a window type air conditioner and i am not sure about how much refrigerant to put in because the unit does not specify. Is there a specific back pressure that i should look out for when charging. And how can i be certain when the unit is charged with the correct amount of Refrigerant [R-22] what sort of physical differences will i notice. But most importantly if some body can please tell me the correct charging pressures for a domestic 9000btu window type air conditioner.

Is it better to leave my home air conditioner on all day at a constant temperature or to vary the temperature?

March 28th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Other - Home Garden
JMH asked:

I had a new thermostat installed and it allows me to set several different time blocks during the day to specific temperatures. As an example, I can have the house at 72 degrees from 6 am to 9 am and then at 85 degrees from 9 am to 5 pm and then back at 72 from 5pm to 12 pm and so on. My fiance thinks that it is more energy effecient to leave the house at a constant temperature all day so the the air conditioner does not have to work as hard to cool down the house between temperature changes. I think it is a waste to cool the house all day long when we are not at home, and that recooling the house once in the evening takes less energy than maintaining the same temperature all day. Any thoughts on who is right?

What is the difference between a electric fan and a air conditioner?

March 28th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Uncategorized
Rantacom Inc. asked:

My friend says they are both the same, as a fan circulates the air fast therefore the air particles cool down and become cold and give you cold air. And the air conditioner pratically does the same thing. Is this right?
